As time has gone on, I found what has really kept me going through this lockdown would be all the little things that I do to keep myself together.

Trying to keep positive, creative, fit, and balancing your work with mental breakdowns. It can be quite overwhelming. It could be quite beneficial to take a moment to step back, relax and breathe…  Wow. Feel that? That energy? You know what? That’s life. That’s you.

A Setback? Or Reflection Opportunity?

I recently had a bit of a breakdown. In the past, I would view this as a major setback. Today, I look at it as a reminder of how far I have come, and although I may still have a long way to go, I am human: I am growing and learning.

The biggest gift you can give somebody is kindness. This can include a small smile complimented by a friendly wave to a stranger or donating your life’s savings to a cause in need. No matter the size, kindness matters! If you are feeling a little down, try showing kindness to the person next to you. Give out the energy that you wish to receive. Brighten a day to brighten your day.

Good Karma? You are on the receiving end.

Kindness is something small, yet it can be a powerful tool. A tool that I use to get out of those dark places include all the little, small things. Breaking down to simplicity.

While feeling over-whelmed, I like to review the finer things in life. The timing chirping and cooing of different bird. The diversity of insects in the garden. The complexity of motion in the clouds. Sometimes, you need to take a deep breathe and admire the simple things that make up the world we live in. The ground beneath your feet. The air your lungs breathe. The touch your body feels.

What makes us alive? What keeps us going? What gets you up everyday?

Being Limitless

Painting requires patience; therefore, I could NEVER paint. Why did I limit myself? I recently started painting as an attempt to expand my horizons and be more creative. And I loved it! Something about the tiresome painting of coat after coat and the frustration of re-mixing the same shade of green is comforting.

I also thought I could never learn an instrument because I didn’t start when I was young. Well, I am currently teaching myself notes and chords on both the piano and ukulele and plan on expanding.

Finding Yourself

Try new things. Discover new little things to fall in love with. Feel alive again.

‘Finding what u really love, when nobody’s watching… the thing u were born loving before ur parents or teachers made u feel weird abt it… get in touch with that part of u, and give it ur attention and develop it because that will be the thing that will change your life’ ~ Phem

Go find yourself. Xx.
